Striving to Achieve ISO 14001
As part of our three-year growth plan, FWD Motion is striving to attain ISO 14001 accreditation.
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard providing the framework for organisations to design and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) and continually improve their environmental performance. Compliance with ISO 14001 ensures businesses take proactive steps to minimise their carbon footprint and achieve their environmental objectives.
To support our goal of achieving ISO accreditation, FWD Motion has welcomed a new team member to champion environmentally responsible practices throughout the business. We are also reviewing our packaging materials and, where appropriate, challenging our suppliers for more eco-friendly alternatives to contribute positively to our planet’s well-being.
Going Green
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is deeply embedded into our organisational ethos and values. We recognise that businesses have a responsibility, not only to themselves, but also to the communities and environments in which they operate.
At FWD Motion, CSR is not just a box to check – it is a fundamental guiding principle that informs everything we do.
Electric Vehicle Fleet
We have recently made a significant investment in replacing our existing business vehicles with electric alternatives, supported by access to newly installed EV charging points.
Now, all journeys to our clients, suppliers, and other connections will be made solely in electric vehicles – hugely reducing our business’ carbon emissions and environmental impact.
Single-Use Plastics
One of our business objectives is to end our use of single-use plastics wherever possible. We have recently invested in a new, sustainable printer which eliminates single-use plastics from our production methods.
We also prioritise the use of recyclable materials, implementing circular recycling practices to divert resources from landfills and incineration.
Sourcing Raw Materials
We maintain stringent standards throughout our supply chain, ensuring avoidance of hazardous materials and full compliance with REACH and RoHS legislation.
Our key suppliers share our sustainability objectives, actively engaging in energy-efficient manufacturing processes, such as solar power and regenerative thermal oxidisers, to reduce environmental impact.
Solar Panels & Batteries
Our company has made extensive investments in solar panels and batteries at our headquarters. These installations enable us to access renewable energy sources and reduce our carbon footprint.
We also have ongoing energy audits in place to identify further opportunities for improvement across our organisation.
Cycle-to-Work Shower
To promote eco-friendly commuting options, we have implemented a “Cycle to Work” programme. As part of this initiative, our office is equipped with a dedicated shower facility for staff cyclists.
Through this programme, we hope to encourage active and sustainable transportation methods while supporting the health and well-being of our employees.
Bee-Friendly Garden
Recognising the importance of biodiversity and conservation, our team has established a small bee-friendly garden on-site.
The garden is built from both recyclable and upcycled materials, providing a protective habitat for insects and most importantly, bees – our greatest pollinators and an essential part of our ecosystem.
UV Ink Technology Printer
Our new, state-of-the-art printer enables us to repurpose outdated signage and merchandise to prevent them from going to landfill.
Unlike solvent-based inks, its UV ink technology does not emit harmful fumes during curing and eliminates the need for laminates, reducing single-use plastic consumption and ensuring a longer lifespan for our vibrant print solutions.
