FWD Motion Donates £4,298 to the Tiny Toes Appeal at Rotherham Hospital
The team at FWD Motion Ltd, TC Harrison JCB, and Secprint Ltd have raised an incredible £4,298 in donations for the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’s Tiny Toes appeal. By completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and with a nerve-racking skydive on its way – the group have smashed their targets through the fantastic support of our friends, family, and followers.
The Tiny Toes Appeal
The Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity has been supporting patient care for more than 25 years. Their Tiny Toes appeal aims to raise £150,000 for the redevelopment of the Neonatal Unit at Rotherham Hospital and create a home-from-home for their most vulnerable patients and their families.
Around 10% of babies are born prematurely, and Rotherham Hospital cares for more than 400 premature and poorly babies each year. Babies may spend anywhere from a few days to six months on the unit, making it a second home for parents filled with both hope and anxiety.
While nothing can prepare parents for their time on the Neonatal Unit, we can all come together to make their experience more bearable. The appeal will fund an overhaul of all the family rooms (repainting, furnishings, modern showers, and kitchen facilities) to transform the experience of neonatal care in Rotherham.
Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
The team at FWD Motion Ltd, in partnership with TC Harrison JCB and Secprint Ltd, signed on to take part in two major fundraising events for the Tiny Toes appeal this year – one of which was the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on the 11th of May 2024.
This event was located at the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where the three iconic peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough lie. The challenge? Summit all three peaks in 12 hours.
After an epic journey through 24 miles of breathtaking views and a total ascent of 1,585 metres, our brave hikers completed the challenge in just 10 hours and 40 minutes! Together, they were able to raise a total of £2,541 for the Tiny Toes appeal, beating our initial target of £1,600.
Charity Skydive
While our team were also hugely excited about taking part in the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’s skydive on the 28th of April 2024 – it was unfortunately postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
Although this was disappointing, we managed to smash our target of £1,000, raising an incredible £1,757 in donations. Most importantly, we are still planning to complete the skydive in September this year. So, watch our social media channels for updates and you WILL see our team hurtling from the skies!
